Morning Keynote Speaker: Kenneth Morris, Jr.

Mr. Morris is a descendant of two of the most influential names in American history: he is the great-great-great grandson of Frederick Douglass and the great-great-grandson of Booker T. Washington. Kenneth continues his family’s legacy of anti-slavery and educational work as co-founder and president of the Rochester-based nonprofit Frederick Douglass Family Initiatives (FDFI). His career and life path are driven by a clear focus on FDFI’s mission "[t]o advance freedom through knowledge and strategic action.”

Lunch Keynote Speaker: Tara Hughes, LCSW-R

Ms. Hughes is immediate past-Coordinator for Trafficking Services at the International Institute of Buffalo, where she coordinated multiple programs providing intensive case management to U.S. and foreign-born survivors of labor and sex trafficking. She regularly presents information regarding human trafficking to professionals and the general public. She is also the owner of Invicta Crisis Solutions, a nationwide consulting group aimed at assisting communities to prepare for and respond to direct victims and families after mass casualty events. 

 

Afternoon Keynote Speaker: Jasmine Grace

Ms. Grace, author of The Diary of Jasmine Grace. Trafficked. Recovered. Redeemed. and founder and director of Bags of Hope Ministries, is a member of the National Survivor Network (NSN) and a survivor of sex trafficking and drug addiction. Jasmine is an effective keynote speaker, panel participant and facilitator for trainings, workshops and groups. She has spoken on panels at the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights in New Hampshire and at two side panels for members of the United Nations in New York.
