If there a major U.S. website selling heroin or anthrax, there'd be an outcry. But we tolerate a site like Backpage that is regularly used to peddle children for sex.

The No Such Thing Campaign
The McCain Institute and the Human Rights Project for Girls (Rights4Girls), with support from Google, have joined forces to launch the No Such Thing campaign with one mission: To make clear that there is no such thing as a child prostitute. There are only victims and survivors of child rape.
Let's use accurate facts about human trafficking
The Washington Post Fact Checker has reported that some of the commonly cited facts about human trafficking have no validity.
-
The claim that 300,000 U.S. children are ‘at risk’ of sexual exploitation stems from a report written in 2001 with faulty math and assumptions that had no basis.
-
The claim that ‘on average, girls first become victims of sex trafficking at 13 years old’. The source for this claim is not clear and may be the same report.
Using inaccurate statistics provides talking points for skeptics and deniers.
We can be the generation that ends human trafficking.
The next President of the United States has a historic opportunity to use the power of the Oval Office to help eradicate modern slavery in the United States and around the world. Anyone who wants to be Commander-in-Chief needs to make ending human trafficking and modern slavery a top priority.
