RRCAHT 2020 Accomplishments

2020 was another productive year for RRCAHT! The highlights for the year include:

  • We held our 4th Annual National Human Trafficking and National Slavery Awareness Day event. It included a roundtable discussion about the pros and cons of legalizing prostitution in New York State and its impacts on human trafficking victims.

  • We held our 2nd annual Night of Fundraiser, Celebration and Networking and awarded Community Partners Awards to local companies that showed invaluable support to our mission: Regional Transit Service and Gateway Outdoor Advertising; Harter, Secrest & Emery, LLP; and Salena’s and Nox.

  •

  • We continued to educate community members including teachers, faith-based organizations, and health care providers about human trafficking. We educated over 500 individuals virtually in 2020.

  • We launched our YouTube channel for access to recent webinars.

  • We continued our "Yes, Here!" campaign with inside cards on RTS buses, displaying our message between January and April.

  • We made donations from our survivor fund for organizational members working with victims of human trafficking to help assist in covering small expenses. We helped four individuals.

  • We received and donated CARE packages to organizations in the local community that work with victims of human trafficking: Center for Youth, Jennifer House, Angels of Mercy, St. Joseph’s Northside, and Worker Justice Center of New York.

  • Our Coalition partners, including Brightstar Community, Angels of Mercy, Sisters of St. Joseph, and National Council of Jewish Women worked with women in need in the Rochester community.
