Gabriel Marcano

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Gabriel Marcano has dedicated more than a decade to advocating for marginalized communities and advancing human rights. From supporting migrants and low-income workers to assisting survivors of human trafficking, Gabriel’s work has centered on the intersection of social justice, labor rights, and community advocacy.

Gabriel currently serves as Anti-Human Trafficking Program Coordinator at the Worker Justice Center of New York, focusing on labor trafficking prevention, outreach, training, and direct assistance for victims. Gabriel also co-coordinates the North Country Human Trafficking Task Force and leads the Labor Trafficking Subcommittee of the Western District of New York Human Trafficking Task Force.

Deeply involved in the labor movement in Rochester, NY, Gabriel serves on the Council of Metro Justice and has extensive experience in organizing, worker advocacy, and coalition-building efforts throughout the region.

Gabriel also served 8 years in the United States Army Reserve, applying those experiences both professionally and through volunteer work supporting veterans recovering from trauma, homelessness, and addiction. A strong commitment to equity, dignity, and collective empowerment is Gabriel’s driving force in the fight for meaningful systemic change.
